About Filebirchfield

We help South African organisations understand the real state of security updates on the devices people work on—without turning the conversation into product demos.

Registered business

The official registered business name is Filebirchfield (Pty) Ltd. The practice was established in 2019 in Cape Town after years of ad-hoc IT support work revealed a recurring gap: leadership assumed patches were current, while device fleets quietly deferred restarts for weeks.

Rather than expand into full managed services, Filebirchfield specialised in patch management reviews for business devices—structured assessments that produce findings internal teams or existing providers can act on.

Mission

Give operations and IT leads a plain-language picture of patch currency, deferral risk, and remediation order across company laptops, desktops, and tablets.

Working approach

We prefer read-only evidence from update consoles and sample devices. Workshops stay short. Reports name owners and timelines instead of abstract maturity scores.

Values

Respect for month-end freezes common in South African businesses. Honesty about what a review cannot cover. Clear separation between advice and hands-on deployment.
